Helping the City Shelter was the main course on July 20, 2008 when local restaurant Pizza Antica teamed up with the City of Sacramento’s Animal Shelter in order to raise awareness about the shelter’s services and animals. Located in Granite Bay, this modern family pizzeria welcomed all pet-lovers eager to help out the City Animal Shelter. With 15% of the guest’s receipt being donated to the shelter, customers welcomed the chance to dine on Pizza Antica’s fine pizza and pasta while lending a hand to the shelter. Guests were also asked to bring in any pet accessories or toys they no longer needed.

After adopting two of her own pets from a local shelter, Assistant General Manager Candace Humphrey was eager to help local shelter organizations. “I’ve pretty much adopted every pet that I own. I want to take on another but my fiancé said we already had too many. It just breaks my heart to see animals given up,” Candace said.

Regular guests and diners felt the same way too, with many hoping that another event would be in the near future. “They said they wanted to help and were interested in the cause,” Candace states, “I told them hopefully next time we can do on-site pet adoptions.”

All in all, it was a successful night for the paws of the City Animal Shelter. If you are interested in Pizza Antica, please visit http://www.pizzaantica.com or for more information regarding the shelter, go to http://www.SacPetSearch.com...
