Hello everyone.

This is very important, if you have a small dog take them OFF of purina indoor small dog puppie chow.

I got a yorkiepoo on Januaray 6th 2008 and she was on the purina food. By the middle of Febuary she was having seizures. They started with little facial seizures, she acted like there was maybe something in her tooth because she would smack her jaw up and down. Then we told the vet, and she said she was having seizures. After a few months after her first one they started getting very very bad, she started to have big grand mall seizures, those are when she shakes, very bad, and sometimes a loss of her bladder.

One friday in the begginging of march, zoey, my dog, had 5-6 seizures that night/day. We were going to take her to our normal vet except she is closed on fridays, so we took zoey to an emergency vets office. They did many tests on her and they thought she had a liver shunt, but come to find out it was the purina indoor small dog puppie chow. The food had too much protein in it, which was like 25% and little dogs' livers can't process alot of protein so her body would take in the protein and send back out toxins into her body and they would go to her brain, with the cause of seizures.

Zoey now has to be on special food. She had to take fenabarbrital and lactolose every 12 hours. She might have to even take this medication for the rest of her life. And she isn't even 1 yet!

So please please please take your dog off of purina indoor small dog puppy chow! It is very scary to have to watch her go through it! So I hope I could help you!

THANKS- MARISSA a.k.a. zoey'smom

P.S. She has been seizure free for a month! =)
