Join us on Wednesday, June 25 at Bark At The Capitol an event dedicated to celebrating “Dog Day” and our best friends...Dogs.  On that day Mayor Fargo will officially declare June 25 as  "Dog Day" in the City of Sacramento.  The festival will take place in Capitol Park, right across from the steps of the California State Capitol Building.  Bark At The Capitol is a family-oriented festival featuring educational programs, demonstrations, contests, celebrities and dog-related services. Anything and EVERYTHING related to the doggie lifestyle!  We will also be presenting The Kennel Club’s prestigious Friends for Life© award honoring valiant and humanitarian acts performed by dogs.

Cost: FREE, $5.00 suggested donation at the gate

Flyball and Agility Demonstration - 12:30 p.m.
Therapy/Rescue Dog Demonstration  - 1:00 p.m.

WANTED your hero dog stories!

 

On Wednesday, June 25 Bark At The Capitol will announce the winner of the The Kennel Club’s Friends for Life© award highlighting the amazing friendships shared between dogs and their owners. 

 

Nomination essays are currently being accepted.  Entries are due by Sunday, June 1, 2008.  Heroes will be judged on the impact they have made to their owners’ lives, be it through bravery, support or companionship.  These dogs have given willingly of their unfailing loyalty and spirit in their constant desire to help and are examples of the incredible difference that dogs make in our lives.
