I've been on the W.O.O.F. Committee (We Offer Off-leash Fun, which is the Elk Grove Dog Park Advisory Committee) for 4 1/2 years now. I call it my version of hte "PTA" since my dogs are my kids :)

I teach dog agility and compete in agility with my two boxers, Ali and Ava. I also work with Laura from A.L.L. Dog Training. We offer a program called "Training On The Go". We organize obedience focused hikes, and outings (field trips). We take people and their dogs to restaurants, Empire Mine State Park, Jenkinson Lake, Point Isabel in the bay area, etc...and incorprate obedience training into the field trip. I recently had to help my 10 year old Neopolitan Mastiff "Chester" cross the rainbow bridge. We miss his sweet soul and presence.

I did organize an Elk Grove Boxer Club in 2007 but haven't had any meetings in 2008 yet...but if you have a boxer and live in or near Elk Grove, feel free to contact me and I'll try to get a meeting scheduled soon. We just focus on having fun w/our dogs, discuss boxer health issues, dog food, training suggestions, etc...
