This year, organizers Coral Henning and Gabriel Grant invite dog owners and their dogs to socialize with pet-friendly businesses and people to raise money for the Domestic Violence Pet Program, which supports victims of domestic violence by caring for their pets while they are in a shelter. This program allows women to leave a violent situation without worrying about their pet’s welfare, and it gives the animals a safe place to reside in the meantime.
With an entry donation of only $10-20, Yappy Hour will feature a raffle of exciting prizes, as well as food and wine donated from local mid-town businesses. Last year, with the help of nearly 60 pet owners, Yappy Hour raised over $1200 to benefit the Loaves and Fishes homeless pet program, this year’s goal - $2000!
