The best vacation we took with our dog, Riley, was to Carmel. The hotel we stay in is dog-friendly and they doggie-sat Riley while my husband & I attended a wedding. The manager let Riley be the front desk clerk and he greeted the guests and their pets as they were checking in. The grounds of the hotel are large and dogs and their owners can roam through the trees and landscaping. There are even doggie hook-ups that can be used while owners go in to get breakfast in the lounge.
Carmel itself is the most dog friendly town. Dogs are welcomed into galleries, shops, and have special seating at restaurants, even the fanciest places. Carmel Beach is a wonderful place where dogs can romp in the water and run on the beach off-leash. Great place for exercise in a beautiful location!
We love going to Carmel because the whole family can fully participate in many fun activities!
