Mice, actually. First we heard squeaking in the bedroom, then one ran across my foot in the kitchen. One was even hanging on the wall in the bathroom (and fell conveniently into the toilet). I called the exterminator right away as mice are not my friends. He found no signs of an infestation. Perplexed, I was! They must have started coming in through a small hole in the floor and had been...taken care of...as soon as they arrived...hence no droppings around the house. We plugged up the hole with steel wool and voila...no more mice. A few months later...more mice!! What was happening? They were always alive, so it couldn't have been LB, our cat. Or could it? One evening, we noticed LB had something in her mouth. "No!!," we cried, "Don't let go of that mouse!" Too late. She let it go in the living room. She had been brining in the mice through her kitty-door and letting them go, alive, in the house...to play with later I suppose. We spent...
