Our kattan*or kuppy** Butterscotch has been moderately successful at learning to use the toilet. We have now removed the 'training' bowl and he is just using the toilet, but we've run in to the challenge of getting him to poop consistently in the toilet. From what I've ready he is likely having 'squat stability' issues when he tried to go poop on the toilet because the pooping position necessitates a higher stance that likely feels unstable to Butter when he's on the slippery seat of the toilet. We're going to get a padded toilet seat this week to see if that helps with his 'squat stability', as it will give him something to grip.
We've also come upon another issue with getting Butter to use the toilet....we need to flush for him. Much like a cat not wanting to use a dirty litterbox, a cat doesn't want to use the 'soiled' water in the toilet so he will pee on the floor if the toilet hasn't been flushed. Basically every time Butter goes upstairs to do...
