It seems to me that people become acquainted with their pets in many ways.  Some you find, some find you.  I have 2 dogs and they came into my life in different ways.  One was unwanted, I found her on the side of the road and despite my best intentions of getting her placed (I convinced myself I couldn't have a dog - not right now anyway) we ended up falling for one another and then there was no way I could give her up.  My other dog is a different story altogether - she's a particular breed I'd been seeking out, my living situation was just right, and I finally found her after months of looking.  Of course I love them both.  They are sweet on me and I on them.  I couldn't imagine better companions than my girls. He is Rotwieller/ Lab (large and loves to play). I knew he would be big, but 152-lbs.!!! He is the nicest and the smartest dog I have ever owned. I love him more than most people.
