<itunes:summary>I was driving yesterday and had one of the local talk and news stations on. People still never cease to amaze me with their ignorance. The news person was talking about the local S.P.C.A. and the over population problem we are having with cats especially ,of course. So she goes on to tell this story of a man who walks into the S.Pc.A. with his children which is even more ignorant in my opinion. And he has a basket of kittens. He was asked about the kittens and he replied well I purposely had my cat have these kittens so my children could see the miracle of birth. But he couldn't keep them and was giving them to the S.P.C.A. Well the news caster and or the worker at the S.P.C.A. wanted to say to him let me take you in the back and lets show you and your family the tragedy of death. It still surprises me how stupid people can be I don't know why it still surprises me maybe because I would like to think that we are growing and maturing both individually and as a society but I don't know. Anyways the moral of the story basically don't be stupid spay and or neuter your animals we have a serious problem and don't get an animal if you cannot take care of it which includes spaying and neutering. There are many low and sometimes no cost spay and neutering clinics if money is an issue. I know all the people on this site are educated but if you know of anyone who isn't I wouldn't hesitate to educate them. I do and if they take offense too bad.</itunes:summary>

                <itunes:summary>Jon Jon and Percy have always enjoyed their outside time anywhere between 6 and 8. But now JonJon wants to stay out when its dark . He tells me its the best hunting time. I have been working on the patio sometimes into the dark and Jon loves it he plays Kommando Kitty. He ducks in the grass, like no one can see him, ears flat, and then POUNCE!!! He has landed his bug!!! But it grosses me out and I just don't think its a good idea for him to be eating bugs. My partner says I am overprotective but I disagree. Anyways I also wonder about the mosquitos. I have heard they can hurt animals too so I really try to watch if the mosquitos start up and if they do I put him in but then I have to come in lol because he just stares at me from the sliding glass door and I can't bear it so I end up coming in too. I'm not over protective but maybe I spoil them---just a little. lol</itunes:summary>

                <itunes:summary>So I went to my regular pet store and talked to a long time employer about the cat food that is now being picked up by a large retailer. This is what she told me she also used the same cat food and she had a concern also so she asked the rep.Whats up? Are we going to see any changes with the ingredients the rep of course said no. She tells us that she went to the web site and looked because they have to post any new ingredients and so far its the same. Also she said that if the company starts to repackage the food and the reps insist them taking new samples of the food and it goes into grocery stores then we probably have a problem and should look for new food. So I am going to keep my eye on it and go from there.</itunes:summary>

Cat and Dog Food, Small Retail Pet Stores and Large Pet Store Chains

                <itunes:summary>I did a a lot of research when we had the pet food scare and educated myself a little better on the best nutritional diet for cats and dogs. So I found a dry cat food that my cats liked and that met their nutritional needs. Now I hear that a large chain pet store will be carrying it and I think great. But then I hear from someone in the business and who is trust worthy that the brand I am using will most definitely have to start using fillers and what not when making there cat food instead of keeping it all natural and healthy. And supposedly she has had this happen with other brands she carried and the obvious reason they do this is because there is no way they, the cat food company could afford to keep the quality of the food and deal with the large pet food chain. So now I am going to try and figure this out see if they are reducing the quality of their ingredients and if necessary find another dry food that jon and percy will like and that will be good for them. Last time I bought their food the packaging had changed and this was before all the other things had come to my attention. I asked the person at the store if they had changed anything in their food and I looked at the ingredients but nothing had changed at least not then. Well it will be interesting and if I have to change then somehow it must be "meant to be" and the new food will be even better for the boys. I guess you just have to chalk it up to business but it still stinks and I don't mean the cat food!!!</itunes:summary>

No way Know how.They do not like loud noises and the new neighborhood we moved into loves the the holiday and there were fireworks abound. So we decided to turn up the t.v in the family room and in one of the bedrooms and make sure all the windows were closed to see if that would calm them down. The t.v being a little loud is OK its the unknown booms that do not work for them. It took a little while and I would come in and chat with them and reassure them everything was OK and finally about 45 minutes into it they calmed down enough. But I was a little nervous at first, my partner was getting a little touchy saying they will be OK blah blah blah. But I know my boys and they have lived in quiet neighborhoods when it comes to the Fourth at least not one that just about every house has something going on. Lol, this is a very patriotic neighborhood. Plus we heard there were going to be block parties.But all ended well and the boys were ok but glad when it was all over.
</itunes:summary>

                <itunes:summary>OK I wrote a couple of blogs about Sammy and how he now walks like good dog opposed to a pain. Some people were wondering what the trick is----Well my friend watched a show about training dogs and then she and I took Sammy out and tried it and it worked great. So here it is----- First you make sure your dog is not ahead of you keep him next to you. Next when he tries to pull or go ahead of you just make a sharp noise even ssh as long as its clear loud enough at the same time pull the leash towards you like a smooth but sharp tug. Then your dog should look up at you and that is letting you know he understands you are the pack leader and is waiting for your direction. I didn't think it would work as well as it did but it did. You might have to do it a few times until he gets but he will. Don't use his name just a sound, thats important.</itunes:summary>

                <itunes:summary>
Well we have another possum. We had one before that looked like the cousin of the devil. If any of you out there have seen a possum close up you know what I mean. This possum though, that visited us the other night must have been a younger one it certainly didn't look as bad as the other one but it was still a possum. So I am walking past the screen door and the boys are glued to it like they know something is out there. I take a quick look and didn't see anything. But I know my boys so I grabbed the flashlight and pointed it at the fence where they were looking. And just when I did that there was the possum coming over the fence from the neighbors yard. Its head popped up and we looked at each other and he took off into the other neighbors yard. Not like the other possum we had who seemed to want to stay even when we tried to shoo it away. So my boys haven't been as glued to the yard as they were that night and I haven't seen the possum again. But late at night we hear something on the roof and around in the backyard. And I know at least the noise we hear on the roof isn't a cat. So anyone out there know about possums and why they choose one yard or place opposed to the other or is it just the luck of the draw. There is no food of any kind out or garbage but I don't know that much about possums and could live without ever seeing another one again. Though JonJon and Percy were highly entertained their mom wasn't. If anyone has any possum info feel free to share it with me!!!
</itunes:summary>

And she is trying to coax Jon Jon in only it wasn't Jon Jon. She is going on and on and I knew it couldn't be Jon. So I am trying to get to her to tell her and Jon comes running out from his little bedroom cave. Looking like whats going on man its too early for this---he wasn't ready to be woken up. So I am yelling back at her so she will hear saying Jon's inside. Well she is like no this is Jon and she is even calling to the cat Jon Jon come in and he starts to respond and come in so I reach the door and shoo him away. She still isn't getting it and I grab the real Jon Jon and say this is Jon thats an impostor. Lol She was freaked the cat looked just like Jon and it came to Jon's name. Thank Goodness it didn't make it in because the boys are very territorial especially Percy and even though they, Jon and Percy, have their fights Percy is very protective of little Jon Jon so it could have been a mess. But all turned out well and the Jon look a like disappeared and we haven't seen him since. That was pretty funny</itunes:summary>
