I came across another interesting cross: a bulldog and laborador or more accurately known as a BULLADOR. I thought the owner was kidding but the closer I looked I could see both breeds in the cute little puppy. What are they going to think of next???? I discovered a funny thing about my puggie, Amie, the other day. We'd been having a lot of rain in Kansas City....at one point it rained every day for seven days. We'd try to take our walks inbetween rainstorms but a couple of times we were caught in deluges and I would end up carrying two waterlogged pugs home. One deluge in particular was so heavy all of us were completely soaked....my shoes were squishing as I was hauling the pugs in my arms. After I attempted to towel dry the dogs I decided to blow dry my hair. Amie wondered into the bathroom so I thought "what the heck" I'll see if she would like a little pampering. Lo and behold if she didn't stand perfectly still while I dried her off!!! She loved it. I think she was waiting for a pedicure to follow. It was a great way to end a soggy walk :-) Submitted my puggie application this past weekend to potentially adopt Wiggles. You can check her out at: www.midwestpugrescue.com Apparently she was a stray found in Des Moines, IA and is currently in a foster home in Fort Dodge, IA. She's older and loves to sleep so I thought that might be a rather easy addition to my pug herd. Amie, my 11-yr old, has the same favorite hobbies so I'm hoping they might bond. It's another rainy morning here in Kansas City so both girls are snoozing on the couch. I'm still studying for my step 2 board exam which I've rescheduled to Sept. 22. Have to give my old brain more time to absorb the material! Back to my practice questions......
We woke up to a rainy morning and that means one thing......Amie and Ruby won't budge when I attempt to take them outside for a bathroom break. Amie surprised me though and found a dry corner on the patio and went pee but I knew that was only half of it. It's like clockwork: within several minutes of finishing a meal she's headed outside to do #2. I reluctantly fed them breakfast and sat down to study (I have step 2 board exam coming up). The rain had turned to a light drizzle so I thought I'd study for a bit then head out for a walk. I was a bit preoccupied but noticed that Amie had been MIA so I went looking for her. She was sauntering out of the bedroom with what looked like a contented smile on her face and immediately I knew! She had decided my bedroom floor was far more appealing than wet grass!!! Fortunately my apartment has all tile floor so clean up is easy. At least she's predictable! Ruby on the other hand will hold EVERYTHING in until she literally bursts. Mother Nature cooperated and while it was still drizzling the girls actually went for a walk.
