Did ya ever......
Did ya ever look at your furry friends, be they cat, dog, bird, etc and thank whatever power above that these precious little creatures are in your life? My usual nightly routine with Amie and Ruby is to lay in bed for awhile reading while they find a comfortable spot and doze. Last night I was hit with a wave of gratitude for their furry presence as I watched them sprawl out on either side of me. It struck me how crucial they've been to my sanity ever since I started medical school. Whenever I've been overwhelmed with stress they somehow have been able to dissipate it and make whatever situation less fraught with anxiety. Sometimes it's the simple act of looking at their pudgy pug faces that slows me down and forces me into the moment. I guess you could call them furry elixirs of sorts! Whatever magical touch they possess, I'll be forever grateful!
