I seriously don't get why people sell dogs for $100++++ just to make a profit off of them.  I see no justification for it, especially when dogs are being put down all the time because nobody wants to adopt them.

You're so right.  In my mind, back yard breeders and puppy mills are just one click away from being the same as a "Michael Vick".  They knowingly breed dogs that have a good chance of illness, disease or mental issues, and most of which will not make it, or displace another already "used" dog.
