It's done
I just returned from taking Brandy to the City Animal Services and having her put down. I am crying and a bit of a mess, but I want to commend the workers there for their kindness and professionalism. I also want to thank the ladies in the waiting area who offered me tissues and a hug. I am not happy with this decision, but I've prayed about it and believe it was the correct one. Thank you for your support. By the way, the City Animal Servicess tdo a great job they take donations and, like all services, need all the support they can get.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you did the right thing. As their human caretakers (aka parents), they rely on us to know when it is the right time and let them go peacefully.

The City of Sacramento, Animal Care Services, would like to send our condolences for your loss of Ginger Brandy. We understand that an animal is a precious gift, and the memories you share with them as companions will never be lost. We would also like to thank you for acknowledging our staff and helping us promote our shelter, it is greatly appreciated. posted by

I am so sorry to hear about Brandy. I am sure you made the right decision. We had to have our dog Porkchop put to sleep 2 years ago. Having to make that decision was one of the hardest things we ever had to do. But I hope you can take at least a little bit of comfort from knowing that Brandy is no longer in any pain.
