Good bye old friend
I am taking my beloved Ginger Brandy to be put down today. She is 10, lame and riddled with tumors, tags, and growths. She is a beautiful Brindle Boxer. I will miss her and have doubts that this is the right thing to do right now, but I can't stand to see her unable to walk without doing the splits and straining to pick herself up. Her teeth and gums are septic and she can't hold any weight even though she eats ALOT. I am putting off taking her to the car and driving to the City Animal Services center because I just can't quite cope as yet. By the way, the city charges $30 to euthanize your dog. My vet quoted me more than $224, not including "consultation". Needless to say, I will look for a new vet before my other two Boxers ever need care or termination of life.

It would be easier to write a message to you if my eyes weren't full of tears. It sounds like it's time, and you're giving her the gift of a peaceful passing. You'll both be in my thoughts today.

I think you are doing a wonderful thing for her. I can only hope i will be strong enough when it is that time for one of mine. But I'm sure she will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge! :-)
