Wags and Woofs, Dudes and Dudettes!

Roo, y'all!

Man. Our humans have decided we need to expand our social network. Why? I know all the people I need to know. Let's face it -- I was a former street stray, so I know not everybody you meet is Good People. Still, if the Chief Chick and Head Dude roo that it must be, well, he who pulls the other way on the leash will get a sore throat, so I'm trying.

We've met a new dogsitter. She seems okay. Abby took to her - but then, Abby's a bit of a cookie ****. I love her, but it's true. I've accepted a few tidbits from the new human, but the jury, as the Chief Chick says, is still out. If the Sitter Chick moves too fast, I still give her a bark or two, just to let her know I'm on duty.

The Head Dude says we need more socializing, so we went to a dog park. Okay. Interesting smells. Sniffed a few noses. Some Finnish Spitz took a liking to me and followed me around. Chicks. She's pretty, and seems nice, but Abby knows I'm a one-female guy who knows better than to do anything that would annoy my hound (besides, when I was adopted, they had the doc take my stuff).  The dog park smells interesting, but it's also full of biiiig dogs who like to get rambunctious. Now why don't they have a separate area for those of us who aren't bruisers? I saw a lady walking around with her Shih Tzu, looking for a safe place to put him down. I'm not that small, but I know how she feels. For now, I think cruising the outside of the fence is just fine.

Now for my Wag of the Week. The Partners brought home a bag of salmon dog treats! They say the treats stink (as if a human nose is sensitive enough to evaluate a smell), but they're good enough to roll on (not that they'd let us). Food isn't that exciting to me, as a rule, but these are good.

This week's Gotta Howl -- people, people, people, pick up after us! Do you know what leads to "No dog" signs? People who don't pick up the poop. Hey, I'm a classy guy - I'd do it myself, if I had the opposable thumbs, but I don't. We dogs spend a major portion of our lives protecting, comforting, and just plain waiting for y'all, only to get the cold stare when we go out because some idiot won't do his doody duty. Get with it, people!

who's the dogsitter?  My 'rents are in the market for a new one.  Probably means they are leaving home for a while....  Maybe I should throw a party while they are gone.
