Love happy endings!

Spaz the cat may just be the only creature alive to opt out of a move to Hawaii.

He and his owners were on their way to the Aloha State from North Carolina awhile back when he escaped from a hotel room. He somehow made his way to a Sacramento feral cat colony, where he was picked up recently by the Sacramento SPCA during one of its routine spay/neuter clinics.

Having noticed that Spaz was already neutered, SPCA vets checked for a microchip that might lead this obviously un-feral cat to his rightful home.

As luck would have it, Spaz's dad just happened to be in California, and drove straight from San Diego to retrieve the castaway cat.

"It definitely makes the case for microchips," said SPCA spokeswoman Lesley Kirrene. "Even after 10 months in a feral cat colony, animals can come home."
