Some People
I was driving yesterday and had one of the local talk and news stations on. People still never cease to amaze me with their ignorance. The news person was talking about the local S.P.C.A. and the over population problem we are having with cats especially ,of course. So she goes on to tell this story of a man who walks into the S.Pc.A. with his children which is even more ignorant in my opinion. And he has a basket of kittens. He was asked about the kittens and he replied well I purposely had my cat have these kittens so my children could see the miracle of birth. But he couldn't keep them and was giving them to the S.P.C.A. Well the news caster and or the worker at the S.P.C.A. wanted to say to him let me take you in the back and lets show you and your family the tragedy of death. It still surprises me how stupid people can be I don't know why it still surprises me maybe because I would like to think that we are growing and maturing both individually and as a society but I don't know. Anyways the moral of the story basically don't be stupid spay and or neuter your animals we have a serious problem and don't get an animal if you cannot take care of it which includes spaying and neutering. There are many  low and sometimes no cost spay and neutering clinics if money is an issue. I know all the people on this site are educated but if you know of anyone who isn't I wouldn't hesitate to educate them. I do and if they take offense too bad.

I work with Yolo County SPCA and when someone came in who wanted to give her children the experience of birth we gave her an Ann Landers column that I have saved that tells people that if they want to do that to contact your local animal shelter and offer to foster a pregnant animal.  We thought she would be very upset, but she surprised us and said that was a good idea and did foster a pregnant cat from the animal shelter.
