Percy and JonJon Have Company Stress, 2 year Old Boy Company Stress
My poor baby cats. They just get over me being gone and now they are dealing with stress from house guests. Namely one very cute but very active 2 year old boy. I have been trying to give them extra love, which calms them down for awhile but they are use to having the run of their home and not being chased, or any loud voices. Can't blame them there, it breaks my heart to see them so miserable. Percy especially he looked so bad this morning I thought he was going to have a nervous breakdown. I have the house blocked off so the baby can't get to them in certain areas, though it helps. Percy I think is still scared that the baby will get to him so when I am home I spend time with them and talk with them like usual. I had a talk with my partner and explained what was going on I think she wasn't giving enough understanding to the situation and what the cats are going through. After all they don't know this is just for one more week, they are somewhat new to their home and I had been gone for 2 weeks. Things were and are not right in their world. And she has to make time to give them love even if it means going out of her way and finding them, like under the bed or in the closet or cabinet. They have the master bedroom and bath and a walk in closet. They could make a mad dash for the dining room which is blocked off to the baby, but the cats can get over the gate.Jon Jon will do that sometimes but Percy I have to carry to one safe spot to the other and he really prefers the MB. I take them out at 7:30pm to get fresh air and hang out. Which is a good time because the baby is asleep by then but still Percy is very sensitive and he is scaring me I think he is going to get himself so depressed that he is going to get sick. You should have seen him this morning. He was trapped in the dining room and I brought him in the master bedroom and talked to him, made my partner give him some love which she hasn't been real on top of that and as far as I am concerned you have to try to make your animals as comfortable as you can in stressful situations especially since they don't know its only for one more week and that we still love them just as much and make sure they are safe. Anyway that has been the new adventure of Jon and Percy. I will be soooooooo glad when they get through this one its starting to make me sick thinking they are so uncomfortable. And I don't know what else I can do!!!

Yeah, when we have visitors over, we keep my cat confined to our bedroom the whole time. She finds it just too stressful to have other strangers in her space! She'll eat hardly anything and is obviously very stressed but the minute people leave, she can relax and is back to normal! Sounds like you're giving your cats lots of love and attention, which will help a lot!
