Jon and Percy are already begging to go outside. But it is way too hot even if I do water everything down. But they don't quite understand it maybe I will take them out and then they will say to themselves,"Oh My God It Is Waaaaaaaay Tooooooo Hot for us",What was mom thinking"? lol I think I will go try that or they will meow forever!!!

OK I wrote a couple of blogs about Sammy and how he now walks like good dog opposed to a pain. Some people were wondering what the trick is----Well my friend watched a show about training dogs and then she and I took Sammy out and tried it and it worked great. So here it is----- First you make sure your dog is not ahead of you keep him next to you. Next when he tries to pull or go ahead of you just make a sharp noise even ssh as long as its clear loud enough at the same time pull the leash towards you like a smooth but sharp tug. Then your dog should look up at you and that is letting you know he understands you are the pack leader and is waiting for your direction. I didn't think it would work as well as it did but it did. You might have to do it a few times until he gets but he will. Don't use his name just a sound, thats important.

Well we have another possum. We had one before that looked like the cousin of the devil. If any of you out there have seen a possum close up you know what I mean. This possum though, that visited us the other night must have been a younger one it certainly didn't look as bad as the other one but it was still a possum. So I am walking past the screen door and the boys are glued to it like they know something is out there. I take a quick look and didn't see anything. But I know my boys so I grabbed the flashlight and pointed it at the fence where they were looking. And just when I did that there was the possum coming over the fence from the neighbors yard. Its head popped up and we looked at each other and he took off into the other neighbors yard. Not like the other possum we had who seemed to want to stay even when we tried to shoo it away. So my boys haven't been as glued to the yard as they were that night and I haven't seen the possum again. But late at night we hear something on the roof and around in the backyard. And I know at least the noise we hear on the roof isn't a cat. So anyone out there know about possums and why they choose one yard or place opposed to the other or is it just the luck of the draw. There is no food of any kind out or garbage but I don't know that much about possums and could live without ever seeing another one again. Though  JonJon and Percy were highly entertained their mom wasn't. If anyone has any possum info feel free to share it with me!!!

The other morning I hear my partner yelling "Oh my God Jon Jon how did you get out have you been out all night"? And she is trying to coax Jon Jon in only it wasn't Jon Jon. She is going on and on  and I knew it couldn't be Jon. So I am trying to get to her to tell her and Jon comes running out from his little bedroom cave. Looking like whats going on man its too early for this---he wasn't ready to be woken up. So I am yelling back at her so she will hear saying Jon's inside. Well she is like no this is Jon and she is even calling to the cat Jon Jon come in and he starts to respond and come in so I reach the door and shoo him away. She still isn't getting it and I grab the real Jon Jon and say this is Jon thats an impostor. Lol She was freaked the cat looked just like Jon and it came to Jon's name. Thank Goodness it didn't make it in because the boys are very territorial especially Percy and even though they, Jon and Percy, have their fights Percy is very protective of little Jon Jon so it could have been a mess. But all turned out well and the Jon look a like disappeared and we haven't seen him since. That was pretty funny

Even better than ever. He responds like a champion its amazing and you would know what I mean if you ever walked a stubborn schnauzer!!!

I have learned that this year cat adoptions are way down. I don't get it cats are the most loving, loyal, playful, entertaining, intelligent and more self sufficient than any other pet. They are perfect  or should I say PURRFECT, ( i know old  and corny but couldn't resist) for the busy career minded person busy family person or anyone. I mean you can't leave them alone without love(they love to be loved) but they are a tad bit more self sufficient than dogs.To me its the best pet and I love dogs birds fish squirrels you name it horses, love horses. I am just kind of trying to look at it logically. I know not having your cat spayed or neutered plays a big part in this problem so please if you adopt or own a cat now spay and or neuter your cat. There are low and no cost places you can go and I would be glad to help you on where you could go so feel free to contact me if you would like more info. Another issue that is going on is we need more people who would like to foster animals. So if you or someone you know would like more info on that I can lead you to the right person to talk to--- as you can see I am very passionate about helping any and all animals in anyway I can and I know there are lots of people out there who would like to help also but might not know how to go about it so feel free to contact me and if I don't have the answer I know who does.

I have often wondered about the way cats are innately programmed to use their litter boxes. I had a few ideas but wanted to see for sure if my ideas were at least in the ballpark. So I looked up the reason why cats use litter boxes and why sometimes they don't or miss etc...  So this is what I found out, a kitten pretty much comes programmed by the Mom (of course) to use the litter box. It is also an in born trait. Wild cats bury their waste to hide themselves or their presence from predators. O.K.,so thats pretty simple but I have heard of people who have had difficulty once their cats are already using their "potty box", thats what we call it----- and they say that cats basically want their box clean. I know mine does if i miss a scooping they tell me,meow Meow MEOW or go and stand by it and look at me and look at the box. They especially Jon Jon will wait until one of us gets home and cleans the box. Poor Boy he is a Lil neurotic about cleanliness. But its better that than the other way.

Whoever says that cats are dumb don't have a clue!!!

Jon has this new and cute place he likes to sleep. He has always liked what we call his kitty caves. Usually they consist of the typical cabinets, closets, drawers, under weird things. He now likes to go to bed with us and we make a little cave with the pillows. He goes in between us and we fluff up the pillows and he scootches in a tight ball and reaches his paw around one of the pillows so he is touching at least one of us. I am tryng to get a picture but he won't do it so far, unless we are both in bed. Very Cute!!!

Sammy my Aunts schnauzer and I were taking our usual walk but we had a friend with us Dawn. Dawn was a couple steps ahead of us as Sammy and I were turning the corner. When out of the blue a huge(like a pony) Standard Poodle mix came galloping towards Sammy and I at full speed. Dawn was yelling at the dog to stay back and I was scooping up Sammy and started to turn around so to make sure I could get Sammy to a safe place. We had no idea if this dog was friend or foe and didn't have time to figure it out. So the huge dog stops and starts backing up with my friend yelling at him to get and stay back. We saw a man getting ready for a bike ride and we believed the dog came from his house. But he looked up and did nothing so we thought it must not be his but as my friend started getting closer to his house the dog ran up to him and the garage which was open. Finally the man stood up and said, get this, in real snooty voice do you have a problem. Well, my friend proceeded to tell him our problem and that their is a county leash law not to mention the CC and R's. He didn't say a word to her,he just looked at this other woman who was kinda of standing in the garage and told her to put the dog inside and that was that no I am sorry nothing. Talk about an idiot he is a good definition of one. Sammy and I continued our walk and got his address and my aunt reported him to the appropriate person. Of course this isn't his first offense. But it was wrong people need to be responsible pet owners or not own pets. Sammy was a little shaken and I was livid but the important thing was no one was hurt.

I work out in the garage a lot. One because we moved a couple months back and I am still working on what goes in a garage sale, what goes in the house somewhere and what goes in the rafters or some little storage spot in th house. The other reason I work in the garage is I work on, build, and build small computer networks. I am a techie or computer geek or whatever you want to call it but I love all things digital, cameras, computers, all tech gadgets. And though I have a place in the house there is no way I can accommodate all my projects or should say there is no way I am allowed to,lol. I also make jewelry. So you see I put a lot of time in the garage. Well my boys , Jon and Percy have a fit when I am out there for a long time. It breaks my heart they sit on the washer and dryer and stare at the door. The laundry room is next to the garage. Jon Jon does this the most Percy gets tired out and gives up but not Jon. I haven't cat proofed the garage as much as I would have like but the other day when it wasn't very hot though I have fans and I can keep it pretty cool. I allowed them in there and they did great better than they ever have. I was amazed. I thought I would be swinging from the rafters trying to get them. But no didn't have to thank God. I made a little area in the garage that has a carpet a big chair and a rocker. I cover them to protect and have a little coffee like table and end table and of course a  t.v. So I think they thought OK its not so different from the house. lol . They explored where I could see them and then settled down on a chair or the card table (Percy) he is famous for wanting to lay on tables. All in all it was a good experience and we will continue it and I will get the pleasure of having them close. I also like to talk with them when I work. They are good listeners and sometime have some really good ideas. They are also techies. Percy prefers the jewelry making a little more than the computer stuff but its all good. As long as they are with me I am happy as a clam.
