When we adopted our dog from a rescue service in Willets we were waiting to name him with just the right name.
He was very shy as he had been chained up in a back yard after his master passed away. The first few days he lay next to my wife's bed and shied away from everyone who came to see him. Sometimes sticking his head under the bed.
We did notice that his ears perked up like a radar antennae when he heard a strange noise. We combined this with his shyness to name him "Radar" after MASH's Radar O'Reilly. A shy but loveable friend.
When he wants attention he sits up and paws at you until you pet him.
